Annabelle Jenkins
Intern

Adolescence is a time of rapid change, physically, emotionally, and socially, and these transitions can often feel overwhelming and confusing. As a Master of Social Work intern, I am passionate about supporting early adolescents as they navigate this critical and vulnerable stage of life. Many young people struggle with low self-esteem, body image concerns, peer pressure, and shifting family or social dynamics, especially during puberty. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where teens can better understand themselves and develop the skills they need to thrive.

I specialize in working with adolescents on both intrapersonal and interpersonal challenges. On an intrapersonal level, I focus on helping clients build a stronger sense of self, confidence, and resilience, especially in the face of negative self-talk and societal pressures. Interpersonally, I work with teens to strengthen communication and conflict resolution skills, particularly in peer relationships and family systems.

I bring a strong understanding of the psychological and emotional effects of puberty and how these experiences shape identity and mental health. Girls, in particular, may face early sexualization, poor body image, and intense social pressure during this time. I strive to be an ally and advocate for my clients, helping them feel confident in who they are and empowered in their relationships and environments.

I am deeply committed to creating a compassionate, affirming therapeutic space grounded in evidence-based practices. It is a privilege to walk alongside adolescents during such a formative time and support them in discovering their voice, their strengths, and their sense of self.
